Crime
Prevention
Crime in our
neighborhood is a concern for everyone. The
Hillsboro-West End Crime Prevention Project serves as a liaison between
the
neighborhood and the police department, distributing information to
neighbors
and assisting them with their concerns or ideas for reducing crime in
our area.
Please consider
the following:
 |
Join
the listserv.
This is the best way to receive updates on crime patterns in the
neighborhood and to get quick notification of breaking news. |
 |
Check
the monthly crime report
and the area crime maps for information on
recent patterns of criminal activity in the neighborhood. |
 |
If
you witness a crime in progress, call 911. |
 |
Report
criminal activity such as break-ins or robberies to the Metro Police
Department, 862-8600. |
 |
Please
do not contact the Crime Prevention committee with crime
reports. These should go to the Police Department. |
 |
If
you wish to notify neighbors of criminal activity in the neighborhood,
please use the listserv. |
 |
If
you have suggestions for neighborhood crime prevention or wish to
volunteer to help, please contact Stephenie Dodson (see the Board page for contact
information). |
